Guide to buying a car

  Struggling to get your head around what to do to buy a car? Not sure if you're buying the right car? Or maybe not sure about the place you are buying it from?

Are they a reputable dealer? - Ask around, look at Google reviews, do some research.
          
Do they have a licence to sell cars? - Check with your local Townhall or local Police. Ask the dealer if they have a licence - It should be on display for you to see.

What Warranty do they give? - The law states that from a dealer, you MUST be given a one year Warranty. Anything less is ILLEGAL.

Who covers the Warranty? - Is it a Warranty backed by the dealer or is it a Warranty they have bought from an independent company. If it's not backed by the dealer, you could end up with having to deal with someone else if you have problems - You speak Spanish, right?

Is the mileage correct? - Look for signs of wear on the side of the drivers seat, steering wheel and top of the gear lever. Ask for any history on the vehicle. Go to the DGT (Traffic) website and make a check on the registration number. (small cost for this).
